Nobody was/is born to be a project manager. Project Management like every other skills/expertise is obtained through training, dedication, hard work and most importantly experience. Personality to some extend helps in some of the aspects of project management(eg; people management). As Sudarshan mentioned it is not a very important aspect

I would argue that many people are born with the inherent capability to be a project manager--with the caveat that it takes learned skills to actually perform as one. So much depends on von how you are brought up, what education you receive, and what inter-personal skills you gain through interaction with others.

Nor your personality or your experience is obstacles to be what you are willing to be. I think if you really want to be a project manager then make it a goal and plan to achieve this goal. You will have to work hard on the behaviors knowledge and experience that make a good project manager. Hope you will be one in the future if it's your goal.

Each person in this world perform project management from the time she/he wakes up to the time she/he goes to bed. So, everybody are project managers. The point is the grade of formality of the way you take to perform project management with more formality (PMI, IPMA, GPM or some method like PRINCE2).
