I see a lot of questions posted here that either don't make sense, or don't really appear to be serious. I understand some questions are from participants who's English may not be perfect, but I am not talking about those. I am talking about questions that are either obvious in their answer or nonsensical in their description. Some questions are even very similar and posted on the same day by the same members. Perhaps to achieve a badge for many questions? What are your thoughts on question moderation? Saving Changes...
In project management central there is written "Okay - here is your chance to spill your guts - everything you ever wanted to know about project management but were afraid to ask."
I think maybe moderation will make some people "afraid to ask" :D
But i also feel uncomfortable when i browse to project management central, and find a lot of question that actually can be answered by reading PMBOK 5 th :(.
I just ignore those question, and maybe with this topic that you begin, people will stop to "spam" His/Her question and more careful to pick the topic to ask with.
Thank you :)
Hi Sisca, yes perhaps the only solution at the moment is to ignore them ;-) Saving Changes...

From my point of view a moderation of the discusions is not a good solution, when a read the word “moderation¨ a lot of questions blowed my mind…
Who and when will decide if is a quality question or not. There will be an aproval period before see our questions posted...
Also it would be promoted that the 95% of discussions began with ... "sorry if this question is not adequate, I hope to ask the question correctly or Dear adminsitrador if you consider that this question is not adequate, let me know…” as in other platforms.
We all observed that during last weeks, the style and challenging questions has evolved towards what it seems a mock exam preparation test or blog posts.
What do you think about confront it? It means if you’ll see a question that from your point of view isn`t adequate, you can send a private message to the owner of the question, without being rude, like this we´ll be available to understand the nature of this question or maybe help them to reformulate properly.
Well said, Maria. I have also noticed that there are several questions that can be VERY easily solved just by consulting PMBoK or other training materials.
Without giving names, there is an individual that has lately been posting SEVERAL quesitons, usually ten or more at a time, which answers are easy to find in any text book. In my opinion, these questions do not add much to the community.
A potential solution would be to have a separate forum in which people that are preparing for the CAPM, PMP, etc. may debate and find a space for Q&A.

I like the idea of a forum just for exam / certification questions.
The Package Selection and Process Improvement forums are rarely used. A certification forum would probably be a pretty busy place.

I fully agree that there should be restructuring as some forums as almost never used.

Hello Sante: Thank you for asking the question, and I understand your frustration. After review from my peers comments to your question and some self-contemplation, my vote would be against moderation of the discussion boards even though there are some discussions posted that are redundant, quickly asked vs. looking up the information themselves or don't really make sense. My reaction to these types of posts is to move on and don't respond. My main reason for keeping the discussion board un-monitored is to allow freedom of speech in a safe environment to ask anything without violating the discussion board "rules" for decency and respect. Your question made me stop and think and I am very proud of the thoughtful responses by my respected colleagues.

The only moderation that I actually noticed was some discussions moved from Package Selection to this forum.
I know the discussion etiquette is pinned at the top of the forum. I assume that people are reading them.
I am slightly different (evolved?) every time I answer a question, even the same one. My view may have changed or become clearer. Each question is an opportunity for us to practice our communication skills, even if it's as simple as decoding the question. Saving Changes...
