Off Shore/On Shore Project Metrics

Hi All,

I am currently running some software projects where we are using off shore resource to perform the system level design tasks and the actual coding itself.

Now - if I want to compare cost savings at the end of a project I simply get my total actual man days effort and multiply this by the difference in day rates between on shore resource and off shore resource....

There is (as we all know) an increase in the overhead of managing off shore resource which I would like to factor in but is very difficult to work out (well difficult for me anyway..) - Has anyone here tried to do the same - how did you do it? Anyone heard of any industry standards that some clever soul has published in terms of the expected increase in management time on a project?

Any pointers you guys and gals could provide would be most appreciated.

Thanks

I take it that's a No then. If I do dig anything up I will post it here to share with you chaps.

Thanks
