Tools for Projects Overviews?

I'm collecting data on each of the projects/changes going on within our organization and need to present this information to senior management so that it can be used as a basis for highlighting conflicts (schedule, resources etc.) and also be used to prioritize projects. There's a rather large number of fields I collect for each project (cost, benefits, department requesting project, timelines, etc etc.). I'm looking for a tool which would allow me to enter all this data and then present it under different views. I know that I could either use Excel or MS-Project for this, but have you come across any other tools that allow to do what I just described (which basically is to collect & display projects information so that I can be used for management decisions). Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Dear Anonymous, if you feel your organization is ready for a server based tool, then you might have a look at Microsoft Project Server and some of the others. If not, you can use the tools that you already have and know such as Excel/Project and note key features or improvement areas that would be beneficial to you and management and let those noted requirements serve to justify future investment. A number of firms offer trials and ASP solutions for the leading PPM systems that you may wish to explore. You might wat to have a look at and discussion with EPM Solutions per the link below: http://www.epmsolutions.net/index.html Best regards. -- Mark Perry, VP of Customer Care, BOT International
