Strategy Implementation vs. Program Implementation
Anonymous
I have attend a lecture recently on Strategy. Part of it touch on Strategy Implementation.
I have the view that Strategy can be handle like a Program hence Strategy Implementation and can be treated like managing a group of projects that are related to each which differs from the lecture.
Off course we will have to start with a Organization Mission/Vision, than translate this into Strategy to be implemented and hence a program.
Here's the defination on Program management from PMI: "A Program is a group of related projects managed in a coordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available from managing them individually"
"Program management is the centralized, coordinated management of a group of projects to achieve the program's strategic objectives and benefits"
I would like to seek some feedback on the above topic, if Strategy Implementation in fact Program Implementation.

Dear Anonymous, nice post. I would like to hear from others as well. I agree with your view on Strategy. I would only add that in additional to projectized strategy initiatives that could be managed as a Strategy Program, an organization may also have operational-based strategic initiatives and measurements that would managed at the operational level. These may or may not be part of the Project/Program mix, but would certainly contribute to the overall implementation of strategy.
