Take a look at a book by Kendall and Rollins called "Advanced Project Portfolio Management and the PMO". It has checklists, a maturity model, PMO role definitions, processes, organizational models, measurements, etc.. a very usable book.

Dear Anonymous, I would recommend that you visit the website of OPM Experts at http://www.opmexperts.com and have a chat with Mr. Schlichter, the President of the firm. Mr. Schlichter is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in the area of assessing operations, practices, maturity, etc. And in addition to PMO kinds of issues and requirements, Mr. Schlichter can also help you with the Sarbanes-Oxley related requirements that most PMOs now face. Good luck. -- Mark Perry, VP of Customer Care, BOT International Saving Changes...
