Agile in restructuring projects. Any hints and tipps?

I'm looking for somebody who has some experience in using Agile methods for restructuring projects. Can you help me?

Do you mean organisational restructuring, process restructuring or restructuring as in building/construction engineering?

I was more talking about organisational restructuring. I hope this helps.

I was hoping that someone with more experience in organisational restructuring would answer.

If you plan an evolutionary restructuring I think that Kanban is a good approach. (Kanban is based on initially respecting the existing roles and processes, visualising the bottlenecks/problems, and solving these in an evolutionary way.) Try to find a Kanban community and ask for advise.

If you plan a revolutionary restructuring, then the key is to collect and consider the inputs and possible fears of everyone affected by the change. I envision that it should be possible to use Scrum for this kind of project, but I have not done it myself and I have no advice to share.

There is a lot of hype about "agile". Think about "agile" as a practise to get work done through small manageable pieces (sprints) based on a prioritized workload ("Product backlog") which is owned by a so-called "product-owner". In a nutshell "agile" is a practise that strives for "early visibility of results", clear understanding of "Done" and a focused team not being interrupted by management. In such respect "agile" is a working practise that can be applied from my point of view to all industries, regardless that the roots are in software industry (Ken Schwaber). Do not think of agile as a methodology - it is a practise and at the end of the day - common sense. This way of working pushes for a lot more discipline during project.

Hi Dirk, this what a think - If your project has organizational changes (moving people or firing them) you may face some challenges with Agile because one of the key factors of it is transparency. And how you will keep that kind of sensitive information safe?
