Formatting Subprojects in MS Project

I have several subprojects that are formatted in a particular way (color coding schemes, milestone marker types, etc). When they are inserted into the Master project, the specical formatting is removed and the defaults are used. Is there an easy way to force the Master project to use whatever formatting is in place in the subprojects?

My experience has been that other than using a common template, there is no way of passing formating information from project to project. I believe that the discussion on Template Files and the Global.MPT supports this.

Use the organizer (on the tools menu) to copy views from one project file to another. If you have individually formatted bars and text rather than using flags or other fields to control the formatting then you are pretty much out of luck. Remember that a view depends on a table, a filter (optional) and a group (also optional). You should use the organizer to copy those items over as well.
