PMI-ACP vs. PMP as the "Standard Bearer" for certifications

With PMI heavily emphasizing agile project management, do we think that the PMI-ACP certification will replace the PMP as the "standard bearer" for PMI certifications? In other words, we will see in the next few years more people earn the PMI-ACP first, and then earn the PMP?
Also too, does one think that the requirements to earn the PMI-ACP will change to reflect agile project management importance?

PMP covers project management on a very broad level, If your interest is just in Agile, you should go for ACP. but if you are thinking of grasping Project Management in a general or a broader perspective, then you need to focus on PMP, indeed both are totally different.

I've also been considering PMI-ACP vs CSM and am interested in hearing your experiences.

ACP is broader look at Agile. It is more for the person that may oversee multiple projects. CSM is for the person who is deeply involved in a Scrum project.

Thanks Dinah. I've since decided on SAFe POPM in the near future with PMI-ACP to follow after a little more experience.

PMI-ACP is supplementary to PMP. It does *not* replace the entire PMBOK.

To illustrate, take the PMBOK 6th edition with the Agile Practice Guide. The entire PDF is around 1000 pages -- the first 810 of which are more related to the PMP certification.

This does not mean that the last 160 pages replaces the approach described in the other 80% of the book.
