Always spending too much time with local foreign teams in explaining, justifying, clarifying discussing global project topics on my international projects.
Countries involved in the project exécution tend to demonstrate resistance rather than full cooperation. They always give priority to their local culture and interest despite they have signed for a global project that appears to be a great opportunity for their local business.
It is really exhausting and highly time consuming to manage such discrepancies and contracdictions daily.

I find that too often projects begin as a 'this would be cool' type of mentality, without a clear business value, or understanding how the requested solution fits into the current environment and strategic landscape.

Of course managing scope, expectations, and resource capacity/allocatioin prove challenging at times, but that is par for the course.

The most challenging part is not having a transparent and open communication with the executive IT stakeholders. The project gets started without complete knowledge of strategic objectives and business or IT goals. These goals should be shared early on with the Project/ Program Manager and the team so each one of them is motivated and responsible to the success of the project.
