I agree with Peter and I would even more emphasize the VALUE - in my opinion everything else is in function of the value. And to ensure healthy perception of the value, PO should have both business and technical overview upon the product. Saving Changes...

First thing I would do is because a SME for the product I am owning. This means understanding the functionality, how and why its used, the user base, the roadmap for the product, the business gripes, etc.... Lots of places for you to start - just dig in and tackle. Saving Changes...
