How do you set/define project template/guideline for a PMO, when the type and size of projects are very different, varying from multi-millions dollars, to a few 100KUS$, to simple task/activities type of projects (but critical to the organization).

Sorry, that got screwed up ....

Basically, you want to set up a matrix, depicting what deliverables are required per project budget range, or hours.

100K-500K - needs specific documents
501K-1M
1M-5M

and so on.

Hi Gonzague,

If I may intervene in the discussion, what are the main objectives of such guidelines? Is it for reporting or governance objectives or what exactly?

Hi Rashed, this is for governance purpose mainly, to ensure the appropriate level of documentation for project. The challenge is that the projects are so diverse in type and size, that there is no "one-size-fits-all" solution. Gonzague.

First, you need to start categorizing the projects and put them in one document even in an Excel sheet! to have a comprehensive view on all you have, you can add as much categories as you want, make a matrix and give the multi million dollars project higher rankings (for example A projects) and B for less important projects and so on.
From there you can start thinking about the right tool, all the templates can be amended to fit any size of projects, have a look on the templates you have now, do they need expansion and amendment? do you have fixed templates you use in first place? if not you can download and customize them for your organization.
Tasks are different and there are many tools out there for Task Management, you can choose what you like, for example, you can have a look on MS Planner or JIRA, please visit this site https://project-management-software.financ...task-management
