I thinking of persuing the Program Management Professional Certification from PMI, and I found the PgMP Book of Knowledge is very short unlike the PMBOK.
I am wondering what sort of questions would the exam contain, how hard is it and whether there are any other materials that you would recommend to utilize.
Hello Rasheed, there are couple of books on PgMP , I can also forward some helpful resources to you. However, have you done PMP Exam? It gives you granular understanding of the program management structure. As you may know, program comprises two or more related projects and other works. So when project management is looking at Project scope management, program management will be looking at the Program scope management perspective. But my slang is "an Expert was once a beginner". We just have to start from somewhere. Thanks and Regards

Yes I did the PMP exam, passed it, and I want to move on to the next level.
I am just inquiring about useful books or any complementary resources to study for the exam.

There are some groups regarding PgMP in LinkedIn. Just search PgMP in groups.
You need to have the PgMP ECO (Exam Content Outline) from PMI.
There are multiple good learning books, e.g. from Ginger Levin or Martial Bellec and several more.
You need Q&As.
But beware, the exam is changing to the new edition of the standard on 25. June 2018. Not much time to prepare.
Application process also takes time.Look it up.
If PMP exam was as hard as 3 on a scale 1 to 10, PgMP is hard 7.

Hi Thomas,
I have a question on PMI RMP certification on hard scale. What scale would you give for PMI RMP as compared to PMP?

Pui,
sorry I did not do that certificate. But I would guess it is less difficult than PMP.

Think about to have this certification or not. I understand this certification has no future, that is because I am not earned it. The same for portfolio. Take a look to Axelos certification. On the other side, I was part of the program and portfolio standards team. Both are smaller than PMBOK because there is not much to right including when you read the process it does not differ from the project manager standard. There is a lot of work to do. Saving Changes...
