I see some ProjectManagement.com members have upwards of 60000 connections in their Network. This does not look right, and I think that they are using automated bots to build their network of connections. What could be the motivation to do so? Saving Changes...

I think some members have so many connections because they made a determined effort to build their networks, while others did it primarily to increase their Influence score. Sending a connection request only requires the click of a button, so it's easy to do.
I doubt many people would bother using bots to build their network, because having a large number of connections on this site is pointless; after all, I can send a message to anyone even if we aren't connected. Also, it's not worth amassing connections to raise one's Influence score, for it has no real-world significance. I can't walk into my boss' office and negotiate higher pay because my Influence score is 80, for example. Saving Changes...

I agree with Eric. Looking at the members with the highest numbers of connections I only see people whom I continuously see here contributing and building their network. I think it is not very likely that people use bots... Saving Changes...

My profile is hidden. How did these bots find me? It should take a lot of effort from someone very motivated to find a hidden profile. Assuming that finding a person and then clicking a button takes 1 minute, it would take a minimum of 1000 hours of work of just finding and adding 60000 connections.
Unless there is a way on this site to automatically find the new joined members of the day. Saving Changes...
