PMBOK Sixth Edition Watermarked Stamped

I have just downloaded the Sixth Edition of the PMBOK and find that every page is watermarked stamped diagonally with a very annoying "Not For Distribution, Sale or Reproduction".

It is extremely annoying seeing this when trying to read it...NOT HAPPY

IMO, it is def'y a big watermark that is taking away the joy of reading, regardless, free copy or not. If there are so many copyright issues, then probably, it was necessary.

As others pointed out, Deepa, you can pay to enjoy your copy without the watermark.

As for me, I go with the old adage: "don't look a gift horse in the mouth!"

As I use it more as a reference rather than to really study from it, the watermark does not bother me that much. My personal feeling is that it is actually quite a good compromise, at first view (full page especially) well visible, but not so much when you are really reading the content at higher mag, where it is not really annoying...

From Mayte ..... "this kind of watermarks are needed in order to avoid people taking screenshots and use it for their own profit"

That is a very good point, and probably why they made change for this version.

It is a free resource. If you are a PMI member, they have a special right now for ordering both the PMBOK and APG.

I wish you could purchase a restriction-free digital copy of the PMBOK.

I disagree. It is not a free copy if it requires an active membership to download and unlock. I also find the watermark distracting. Regardless if it bothers you specifically, it is a worthless security measure for anyone serious about pirating content. Rather, it explicitly inconveniences legitimate readers to encourage duplicate purchase of the same content. This seems like a poor choice, both ethically and environmentally.

I agree with Mayte.
