Of all the facets of project management, this seems like it should be the most trivial. However, it seems quite difficult to come up a good name to call a project. However, I think it is important as the name will be how the project is referred to through documents, discussions, etc.
We have a large worldwide ERP project beginning and we are struggling with a name for the project. I am wanting to go with a French based name since, while we are a French company, our division is based out of the US. I'd like to use a name that is not so North American centric. I am wondering if there are resources out there for helping to give a project a name?

How about, "Big ERP", or BERP, pronounced "burp"? Or maybe to add a little French touch, "BERP du France". And if it is on schedule, the project manager gets to wear the yellow jersey. Saving Changes...
You're absolutely right. Naming a project is a major part of its success.
A well-named project is much more appropriated by people who are working on it than a poor-named one...
