The fun of 360 degree evaluation is the variability of responses from various quarters. None of them is right or wrong. The thing which matters is how well aligned is your own evaluation about yourself with that made by your bosses, peers and subordinates. If they are align closely then it reflects your true score, otherwise you are shown the misalignment to improve on in your next evaluation. You may grade yourself as an honest person, but your boss might not think so and so does your peers and subordinates, so there is something really wrong with your definition and perception of honesty. I've recently read a couple of articles that 360 reviews are falling out of favour. I see value in them, as I think it provides a vehicle for feedback that may not otherwise be heard. The drawbacks can include that not everyone is effective, or even objective at giving feedback. Peer 360 review's main purpose is to ensure there is a check and balance on the feedback provided by and provided for PM during his/her involvements in projects activities. This is especially important if there are challenges arose in the project and causing company reputation and monetary impact. PM should be sincere during the review and same goes to the reviewers' feedback towards PM's performance.
Not every project failure shall be shouldered by PM alone, but there are some other aspects e.g. company's direction and political influences which sometimes a company is willing to take up a cost deficit project in order to step into a big customer account, and hoping eventually to make up the losses made in the first few projects.
Interview between the superior of the PM about the feedback on the review 360 shall be conducted to review the overall performance of the PM. Saving Changes...

I have taken 360s at IBM and PMI as a subject of review. For sure they had different focus, but both were about capabilities needed for the role.
I also took part in 360s as a reviewer for others.
360s provide a valuable feedback to you how others see you, compared to how you see yourself. You can be satisfied about the matching views and should think about the gaps, these might be your blind spots.
Authenticity is defined as a match between how you see yourself and how others perceive you. Authenticity is a leadership capability you should pursue, since it increases your self awareness and credibility.

The 360 is for the 360 degrees in a circle. In other words, you are evaluated by all people in your immediate surrounding. Usually it involves your immediate reports, your supervisors, your peers and, sometimes, your customers.

Thanks, Mudassar. I do understand the origin of 360 reviews. I was teasing Thomas because 360 has quite a different historical meaning for IBM.
