I imagine people have managed projects at various times throughout their life, whether they were aware of it, or had no idea it was actually a project. When I completed a masters dissertation, this was indeed a project, with a schedule, budget, resources, risks, stakeholders, and even a gantt chart.

I created and performed a course named "All are project managers" teaching people to understand that we perform project management from the time we wake up to the time we go to bed. So, the same for all related to project management. Think about it. Obviously you need to understand what project/program/portfolio management is to make the abstraction. And when it sounds trivial is not easy to find people (including certificated people) that understand it.

I have totally done this! Though not using all of the official documentation of each strategy and process used, I still think I went through each one. Whether it was out of habit or that it just paired well with what was going on and the life-project I was working on, I'm not sure ;)
