According to me, It should not be used. There are types of projects where we should use the agile practices, however the hybrid can ruin the beauty of being agile. It has to be known what exactly do you pick up from the traditional methods to answer you better on this.
You mention an important point. If a project requires agility do not have to give more turns. But there are projects that involve phases that require agility and other phases that require a greater level of planning and documentation.
By the way, I see you work in Ecuador. Successes

An by the way, I have faced situations like I was assigned to World Wide SAP Implementation. If you check the SAP website you will find the SAP Hybrid defined method I have the opportunity to use. But as I mentioned, go to the new PMBOK GUide.
thanks for the reply. I understand Agile is not a methodology, maybe I mispronounced the question.

No problem. There is a general understanding about Agile is a method/methodology. In fact, I have the opportunity to particpate in the group that created and reviewed the new PMBOK version and believe me that the discussion in that sense was rely a lot.I always tried to clarify it because if you think Agile as a method then you have great chance to fail if you tried to use it.

Given how long agile has been around, you could make the case that it belongs to the traditional side. :)

We did a project recently where we did waterfall up front around the planning stage but when it came to the implementation stage, we did it agile with iterations, ceremonies, etc. We were bound by a SOW so the planning needed to fit the need of that. It really worked out well.

Great. It`s precisely in the type of projects in which I believe that a hybrid model can be very useful

Yes, you could definitely apply a hybrid between Agile and Traditional methodologies for a project because as Ramachadran said above, you could incorporate either of the methods to specific phases of the project thereby improving delivery overall. Agile is after all, a state of mind and not a process per se.

I agree with Mr Sergio, Agile is practice not method and we can not mix or combine them, Only with changing management you can break this resistance as per my idea and experience...
