Hybrid approach to projects is how my organization typically works. Agile has a huge impact on IT projects in my org but clients tend to like schedules and inputs/tools/outputs of waterfall. So we do a lot of mixing pieces in that make sense to keep the group happy.

I agree in some parts, you definitely have to adapt to the changing needs of the projects and that is what makes this job exciting.

Take the best of all your worlds and use them as it makes sense - look at the PMBOK processes, PRINCE2 methodology or Agile processes - all have some great details to use.

Hi,
I recently graduated with a MBA and project management certificate. I also have a Nursing degree and experience in health care sales. I cannot find any opportunities, because I do not have any PM experience. If I pursued a certification, which is more marketable PMP or Scum?
My goal is to work in Change Management in the Health care industry.

Neither, Michelle. You should go for a change management certification like Prosci.

Hello
I believe that the search for a certification should not go on the side of which is more commercial. In the case of SCRUM or PMP, both are important but for the value you can bring with the knowledge gained and the best practices learned.
SCRUM is often related to projects related to programming (initially focused on that) and is currently adapted to almost all types of projects from an Agile approach.
PMP offers you techniques, tools and you must develop skills for project management, from my point of view both can complement and adapt to the needs you require.
I opted for both and tried to make the best of it.
Consider also that studying and preparing is a great investment and that for the subject of Change Management there are even other certifications, do not faint in the search for opportunities.

Yes, You can. I have seen different management styles in different companies. It includes Scrum, agile and Kanban being followed collectively. but there is more talk about Agile now.
