Cultural differences might have a major impact so you need to be careful and sensitive on this matter as from my experience, NGO's are normally multi-cultural organizations.

1. Stakeholder management is always important but likely more so with most NGO projects given the diverse agendas of key stakeholders on these projects

2. Clearly understanding what success looks like might be tougher than on a typical for-profit project

3. Resource management is also challenging as you are likely dealing with constrained financial resources and reliant on volunteer staff
