I have multi part question.
1) Does anybody know how to determine status of a task based on % complete, EAC late start and late finish?
2) Are there any guidelines to determine red, yellow, green status of a task?
3) Can the above be coded using MS project functions? If yes, need some details Saving Changes...

I dont think MSP can give you a traffic light based project health indicator. Moreover such indicators can depend upon the Upper Specified Limit, Lower Specified Limit and Target Limit at Project Level, Practice level or Organization level goals. This should also have a flexibility to allow a Project Manager to modify the colors depending upon realistic issues which were outside his control.
