Having started to actively participate in this community over the last month, I'm intrigued by the algorithm used to pick the headshots which show up in the header of the website.
Does anyone have insights into that as I tend to see some folks photos show up very regularly whereas others are infrequent?

I was wondering the same. Then I found this old thread.
I agree with Rami's assessment of things that could be updated. With the new PMBOK, I think the challenge questions are top priority. The other's are nice to haves. Saving Changes...
I wonder if the algorithm doesn't show you your own headshot as I've refreshed it a bunch of times and haven't seen mine yet :-)

I've seen you there several times Kiron.
By the way, the statement "The head shots are picked by staff from the top contributors and influencers on the site. They are then placed into a pool where they are randomly placed in the banner." is at best, unsubstantiated! I have seen people there with an influence of 23 and virtually no contributions.

Hi Kiron,
As Sante, mentioned I have seen low influence score in the banner. So, not sure whether it's based on top contributions and influence scores. Saving Changes...

Excellent - I actually like the fact that they DON'T show a person their own headshot up there - it's a chance to learn about some of the other influencers in the community AND a way to keep egos in check!

Huh. I did not even notice that the headshots were of active participants. I thought it was a generic banner with stock photos showing actors as professionals! Saving Changes...
