EVM usage in you projects

In your project is EVM really use? Fully? a limited implementation?

You feel it improve project management compare to project that didn't use EVM

We don't use EVM for our IT or business projects. I think it's more suited to environments with less ambiguity of outcome and greater project management maturity.

Kiron made a good point related to agile delivery practices. Of course, you can still translate into PV and EV, however with a given stable team with a quite constant velocity and standard cost rates, the EVM metrics information for such cases is limited.

We don't use it here, our finance dept is unable to provide us with actual cost data on a timely basis, so that prevents it being a useful tool

EVM limited for reporting purpose. But I use MS Excel for my EVM and use MS Project against a baseline too.

Our Project Team (Construction Project) use Primavera P6 extensively as contractual specified tool in project management.
I not experience on Primavera P6 full usage. When well populated the calculation of EVM work good?

I have been doing IT project management for over twenty years, Vincent. We definitely use the EVM indices (CPI and SVI) to see if we are off track. EAC is not used very much.
That is also my experience in most project the basic is use.
