We don't use it here, our finance dept is unable to provide us with actual cost data on a timely basis, so that prevents it being a useful tool
Can't you get an estimate of cost? would give you a reasonable EVM !

Unfortunately not, I am still waiting for August's figures, so estimates would be miles off! To be honest, it is very frustrating, as it causes many other issues too beyond the impossibility of using EVM.
EVM is very useful in maintaining and upholding a project’s accountability and visibility. You need to learn what common terms exist among EVM formulas, how to apply basic and advanced formulas, and what they mean for improving visibility in your company.

That is over a month after August, an you have trouble getting the information to monitor and control.
Can’t it be shortened?
