Does anyone have any thoughts on implementing an enterprise Project Tracking / Resource management solution.
Especially
- ABT's Result Management Suit
- Integration with MS Project 98
- Level of project management expertise needed to track time and resources in a meaningful way at the task level.
- Any experince with decoupling the scheduling tool from the project tracking and resource management tools. Resource are pulled out of the pool and put back in but not tracked while they are on a project via the plan in the PT and RM tools.

Thanks

Hi,

I have used Project Scheduler, AMS Realtime, and MS Project. I must say that I prefer Project Scheduler, especially now that the Critical Chain option has been added and the Web capabilities beefed up. Their Suite package seems very useful for allowing team members in diverse locations to assist with Estimate to Complete evaluations, while allowing the PM to be the control point of effort changes.

There are a number of products available for implementing an enterprise Project tracking / Resource management solution. I just went through a similar selection and went with Innate. However, we looked at IMS Webtime, SME Project Invision, Pacific Edge. These all integrate with MS Project. There are also the high end product, like ABT/Niku, Artemis, Primavera. Our organization uses ABT/Niku because we perfer the auto-schedule function.

Here is an article that me be beneficial.

As the PM for configuring, testing, training and deploying Primavera's TeamPlay to over 225 IT personnel, I certainly wish that there was a discussion database here for exchanging do's and dont's. Feel free to contact me with TeamPlay questions or to share your experiences.
