What was a difficult situation in your last project and what did you do to overcome it?

Dealing with third parties on integration work to our project. I immediately smelled it in the water as we identified stakeholders. I added this to the risk registry and monitored daily with the client. Even with the warning it delayed the project, but it could have been much worse had we not identified ways to light fires under the third party complete the work before money ran out for the client.

All projects have difficult situations, that is what makes it interesting. The most common is the discrepancy between what "management" believes and what the project team sees. Success requires getting the expectations in alignment.
