I am confused about the mentioned expressions such configuration control, configuration change management, configuration identification, configuration status accounting and configuration verification and audit.

What are the differences and how can I put them in sequence for processing.
I find that the PMBOK is not explaining the details enough understand those items.

My recommendation is going to PMI“s "Practice Standard for Configuration Management". If you can not access it then go for IEEE standards that you can find for free into the internet. The IEEE standards, no matter most of them are related to software, can be applied to other fields and contains lot of examples.

You are welcome. I have lot of experience in the field because I have implemented it at organizational level but it is not enough space here to write about that and there is not too much to add beyond things you can read into the standards.

I recall some questions on the PMP exam where it was one of the options. So if you are going for the PMP certification in the future, you will need to understand it. Rita's book "PMP Exam Prep" has a decent summary.
