Bala its a very widely discussed question and every generation PM faces this as challenge. PM needs to interact with many stakeholders coming from different background some are technical some are not, so PM should have enough knowledge of stakeholders and their work, he needs to be very good with communication. If a PM has technology understanding nothing beats this i.e. Techno-Manager. So, all in all basics of technology should be covered by PM.
A techno project manager in some industries is a receipe for failure

If you have project management skills, why would a project manager need other skills? All the skills that have been listed by our colleagues should be considered project management skills.

The problem is when people want you to have more than project management skills. Such as having industry expertise. They don't understand that project management is your expertise.

Patience and never take things personal. You need to stay cool when others unravel. All eyes are on you. Always remember that.
