Yes, It is possible but it depends on the project size. If large project size of 100-120 team size, its difficult to manage multiple projects. If its medium scale project of around 40-60, you can manage couple of project simultaneously. If you have smaller size of project then you can manage 4-5 project simultaneously. Hope it helps to figure out your queries.
Sorry @Jigar but that is not correct. I am managing multiple project with 250-650 people involved. But that is possible if and only if: 1-your style if not micromanagement. 2-you create a project team structure to support it.

As usual, it depends. Assuming you can do so without taking your eye off one or the other, then yes. If the projects are staggered such that you are primarily in a monitoring mode on one while you are focused on developing preliminary baselines for the other, then it is likely more feasible than if there are two projects at exactly the same point in their lifecycles.

The key is to acknowledge the cost of context switching and weigh that against the potential benefits of such concurrent work.

Notwithstanding Kiron's answer, there are efficiency opportunities when you manage multiple projects.

For example, the more projects I manage, the less time I need to charge to each project when I do my weekly time sheets review or my weekly project issues review.

The cross-project view can also make you better aware of organizational issues.

Hi , very nice comments ... As per my experience,I think it is better each project with total manpower 200 and above with minimum 15 staff has one project manager, As projects director/projects lead, we can manage 5-10 projects in same time but it is not meaning that we are managing each project, we are as leader only we are not involving to all aspects of project. Also need good functional managers to support projects director. In case typical projects, then we can manage easily 10 projects at same time...

The number of projects you can manage will depend on complexity and maturity of the organisation in my opinion.
