We all know that jurisdictions are not the same from country to country , some of them may be somewhat different in theory and very contradictory in practice vis à vis the main principles of the Code of Conduct and Equity.
How to deal with such a conflicting situation as a project manager?

Taking into account the Code of Conduct and Code of Ethic belonging to the organization. That is all you have to take into account. Just in case your organization do not have one then you have to request help for the legal department.

To make things more difficult, you have a variety of code of conducts or code of ethics by which you must abide. For example, besides your organization's code of conduct/ethics, you would also have code of ethics from any certification you have, like PMI.

By and large, these multiple codes overlap and have little differences. But you do have to be aware of all of them and which one is applicable in what situation.

What Stéphane stated is a great point. I will talk about my personal experience along the years. PMI Code of Conduct has no sense because it is not legally actionable. The PMI certification is in the same level. That is because project management is not a profession formaly speaking (as medice for example). Then, the only thing that matters is the code of conduct and code of ethic belonging to your organization. Obviously, the assumption is that both organizational documents are aligned to local laws and regulations. Just in case you have some doubt about that my recommendation is search for help outside your organization.

whichever is the higher standard at a given situation (between PMI, working organization and country regulations) should be followed.
