Regardless of the confusing question format with key variables missing, "Anonymous" has since confirmed/added that it's in fact 5 resources, at $100 per hour, over 80 days, and the question was to calculate a dollar value.
No, Sante. Julie asked if dividing 40 person-days by 8 hour-days meant 5 persons. This is not a correct calculation.

Granted, that's why Stéphane I asked her to clarify if what she really means is 5 resources per day at $100 per hour per resource over 80 days. I am making assumptions about what I think she might be saying. There are two streams of understanding here evident by the approx. 50/50 calculation results of $32,000 and $320,000 from other forum members in this thread. I am yet to receive a direct answer as to the variables above.

If it's simply working out man hours (I prefer to use man hours than man days) then assuming an 8 hour day, it's 320 man hours. Later anon/julie confirmed a rate of $100, so given these variables only, it's $32,000. If on the other hand what anon/julie really means is 5 resources per day, at 8 hours per day, at $100 rate per hour, over 80 days, then add another "0". Oh and as Stéphane pointed out earlier, it's person days/hours, not man days/hours, unless of course one identifies themselves as non-binary ;-)
