Can you say more about your needs? I have been using EV for a number of years. Here are some things I would highly suggest.
1. Make sure that every item in your WBS has a clearly defined exit criteria (document it in writing). It is absolutely necessary to know what done means for each work package (and activities within each work package).
2. Break the work down into small chunks of work - nothing more than two weeks long. My rule of thumb is 80% of the near term tasks should be detailed to two weeks long, this is sometimes called a rolling wave. In my world we can detail plan for three months (our projects tend to be 6 to 12 months long). So we always have 3 months of detailed planning in our schedule. Everything else is at a higher level.
3. Publish a list of tasks that must start each week and another list of tasks that must finish each week. The publish list should be accessable to everyone on the team.
4. Get weekly status against the published list of start & finish tasks. If the task is started it gets 1% work completed. If it is done it gets 100% work completed. We don't track anything in-between unless we have a defined objective %s. So for instance we have some work packages that can't be broken down into two week chunks, so we defined that when the code is written they get 25%, another 25% for unit testing, 25% integration and 25% for documents completed.
Personally I set up a website on our Intranet so that everyone has access to all of this information all the time.

Did you mean EVA as economic value added ? Saving Changes...
I hope if dogs ever take over the world, and they choose a king, they don't just go by size, because I bet there are some Chihuahuas with some good ideas.
