I have applied for PMP, there is still 4 months for PMP 6th edition exam. what you all think, should i go for exam in 5th edition or should i apply for 6th edition exam dates??? Please help me in deciding this. Saving Changes...
Either one is fine. If you need the PMP certification now, go with 5th as there a lot more simulation exams and content regarding this. If you can wait 6 months or so, then do the 6th edition exam, as the exam prep material will make its way onto the internet.

I would recommend taking the exam in the 5th edition if you're prepared and ready for it. The 6th edition contains a lot more content and there will not be a lot of exam preparation material available for a few months. Saving Changes...

Hi Ahmed: I agree with Emily. It is better to go with the Fifth Edition as there are lot of materials already available. Further, since one of the biggest problems with getting a PMP is procrastination, the 4 month deadline will keep you focused and motivated to reach your goal. Saving Changes...

my reco. is to go with the 5th edition. even if you start your preparation from today, and could allocate 2 full months, you should be able to clear it. Although there are several discussions ongoing on the 6th edition, the first few batches who would take exams based on the 6th editions would be a little clueless. so, it's better to get certified asap Good luck! I would also recommend targeting February as your exam month so that you have time to retake. Risk Management!

Since you have applied for PMP examination, it means you have already gone through PMBOK 5th Ed at least once or twice. It would be logical to schedule your exam before it changes for 6th edition. The content and structure of PMBOK 6th edition is revised a lot. There is a whole new chapter on Project Manager's role and responsibilities. Due to focus on agile practices throughout each knowledge area, one shall expect many questions testing agile/lean/concurrent manufacturing for PMBOK 6th edition.
So, better go for exam ASAP...and yes.. go with positive frame of mind to clear exam in 1st attempt...never ever have doubt about your abilities...
