I would also recommend 5th edition, if you have already started studying. And it also provides you with a deadline to complete what you have started. Keeping up the pace and commitment to studies till end march will exhaust you mid way. I have seen many people giving up in the way because they could take out less time out of their routine and the preparation time went beyond 3-4 months and they lost interest.

Either one should be fine but if you’re ready go for it now.

Realistically, only you can really answer this. If you've spent 3 months preparing for the current exam, probably go for that. If you haven't started, then probably the 6th edition.

Good Luck! Please let us know how you fare out.

If you can be ready before the switch to 6th edition, do it.
More preparation material for the 5th available now.

Since you prepared with the 5th edition material, I will recommend going with the 5th edition as soon as you feel ready, just in case you need to take the exam again before March 26th.

I would also recommend targeting February as your exam month so that you have time to retake. Risk Management!
Since you have applied for PMP examination, it means you have already gone through PMBOK 5th Ed at least once or twice. It would be logical to schedule your exam before it changes for 6th edition. The content and structure of PMBOK 6th edition is revised a lot. There is a whole new chapter on Project Manager's role and responsibilities. Due to focus on agile practices throughout each knowledge area, one shall expect many questions testing agile/lean/concurrent manufacturing for PMBOK 6th edition.
So, better go for exam ASAP...and yes.. go with positive frame of mind to clear exam in 1st attempt...never ever have doubt about your abilities...

I am in full support with Emily and Anita's views. I think the available reference materials online right now is incredible. Use this deadline to really concentrate your study habits.

My own dilemma is taking the RMP exam now, because once 6th edition exam is out I believe it will effect the RMP exam. Can anyone confirm this.

If you have prepared yourself for 5th edition, go for it before the 6th edition.
you don't know the changes for 6th edition. You will start allover.
Are you ready to put in more time to study?

I think with 4 months, you can still go for the 5th Edition. I prepared for my in 2 months and attempted the exam at the 3rd month. However, if you are not comfortable with that, take your time and go for the 6th Edition. It all depends on you..... Wish you the best.
