Hi All,

I need help when it comes to Blockchain.
A lot of companies are asking for Blockchain project managers. I understand the concept behind it, however, I haven't been able to find a recognized institute or organization providing in-depth training. All my information I gained through extensive reading. So if I want to catch on this wave and upgrade my skills; is there a way to do that? or do I have to search for a job in one of the big companies who are using the technology and gain experience through that?

Would appreciate any bit of info anyone can provide :)

Thank you,
Dina

I would personally suggest you to go for learning it by yourself from online learning resources because by this way you would be able to learn it thoroughly.

I imagine more formalized resources for learning will become available in time as the technology ramps up even more.

The genesis of blockchain is hierarchical data bases. To understand what blockchain is take a look to: https://www-01.ibm.com/common/ssi/cgi-bin/...id=XIM12354USEN

Hi Sergio,

Thank you very much for the book. I downloaded it and went quickly through the topics and it seems to be much better than the jargon I usually find on the Internet. I also forwarded it to my team to get them to better understand the concept.

Much appreciated,
Dina

You are welcome. The book from IBM is very good. My company is investigating it because supply change. At the end take into account: 1-it is a simple concept. 2-it is proven right now. 3-it is on the investigation phase about the application because it needs a cooperative environment not a competitive environment in place.

Dina -

At this point, other than online learning via articles, YouTube videos and TED Talks, the only other option is practical experience. A number of large companies have started investigating use of blockchain for their transactional needs, but if your company isn't doing so you might want to reach out through your local network to see if someone else's company is and whether they'd be open to have you visit them to learn more...

Hi Kiron,

Online learning is what I have been trying to do, but I was a bit reluctant to try to initiate projects in an area that I am not very comfortable in yet (Hence trying to get more info on the subject). However, I agree with you; it seems like getting into it is the only way for now - and I think the quickest - so I have a couple of projects in the pipeline that might actually benefit from being developed on a Blockchain platform. I will discuss it with the rest of the management team to see if we can secure a small investment to work on a POC.

Thanks again for everyone :),
Dina

The important thing to take into consideration, because as other things it is a common missunderstanding outside there, BITCOIN IS NOT BLOCKCHAIN, both are not the same. This is what people have to take on their minds when they trried to understand what blockchanin is.

Thanks Sergio for this book. It will be great if any one across the world can share their live project experience specifying some use case based on blockchain R&D.
