Hi All,
I need help when it comes to Blockchain.
A lot of companies are asking for Blockchain project managers. I understand the concept behind it, however, I haven't been able to find a recognized institute or organization providing in-depth training. All my information I gained through extensive reading. So if I want to catch on this wave and upgrade my skills; is there a way to do that? or do I have to search for a job in one of the big companies who are using the technology and gain experience through that?
Would appreciate any bit of info anyone can provide :)
Thank you very much for the book. I downloaded it and went quickly through the topics and it seems to be much better than the jargon I usually find on the Internet. I also forwarded it to my team to get them to better understand the concept.
Much appreciated,

Dina -
At this point, other than online learning via articles, YouTube videos and TED Talks, the only other option is practical experience. A number of large companies have started investigating use of blockchain for their transactional needs, but if your company isn't doing so you might want to reach out through your local network to see if someone else's company is and whether they'd be open to have you visit them to learn more...

Hi Kiron,
Online learning is what I have been trying to do, but I was a bit reluctant to try to initiate projects in an area that I am not very comfortable in yet (Hence trying to get more info on the subject). However, I agree with you; it seems like getting into it is the only way for now - and I think the quickest - so I have a couple of projects in the pipeline that might actually benefit from being developed on a Blockchain platform. I will discuss it with the rest of the management team to see if we can secure a small investment to work on a POC.
Thanks again for everyone :),

Thanks Sergio for this book. It will be great if any one across the world can share their live project experience specifying some use case based on blockchain R&D.
I can not give you details because strategical reasons (my company policies). Let me say that it is good to take a look. Saving Changes...
For technical details and to recruit experts, look at https:/bitcoin.stackexchange.com and https://ethereum.stackexchange.com/questio...cept-behind-it. As Sergio Luis Conte points out, the base of any blockchain are distributed databases that thousands of computers around the internet choose to share and maintain. Any transaction on the network is annotated and distributed around all the network. So, you have a virtual and distributed ledger and notary on who owns what (all computers running the program) First, more valuable today, blockchain is bitcoin. Now ethereum is another blockchain network gaining momentum, because on it you can ledger value, but also future contracts, small programs that both parts agree to run on some future time, and when the time come, all the network runs the program and transfer value based on program results. Simplest example is a program that on some future date take the value of gold in usd from reuters web, and if is over some limit transfer value to one side, if not transfer value to the other side. First decision for managers is between develop on top of existing blockchains or promote on their industry or sector the creation of a new blockchain. And you will need mathematicians and cryptographers on your project. Saving Changes...

Hi All,
Thank you Rogelio for the details provided.
On another note, I have taken everyone's advice and started doing my own research online and reading through some of the documents and websites that you all provided. Lets say that things make much more sense right now thanks to all of you :)
I have also been going through this course:
https://www.edx.org/course/blockchain-busi...dationx-lfs171x and I found it very useful, it has lab exercises as well....
The government of Dubai have set a deadline for government services to be on block chain (where applicable) by year 2020. So now I am trying to get my team trained on this as soon as possible for them to have the confidence to carry out such projects (or support an external vendor if we decide to get one), so we are going to have a fun year ahead :).
