Hi All,

I have decided that I would like a career within Programme and Project Support. I have identified roles that I would like to do as either Project Support Officer, Project Analyst or PMO Analyst. I understand from looking at job descriptions on jobsites that the above roles generally include costings, risk management, reporting, project planning and scheduling, and change management.

Questions
1.What is the best way into getting started within a PMO role?
2.What is the difference between a Project Analyst and a PMO Analyst?
3.What do Project Analyst, PMO Analyst, Project Support staff actually do?
4.I heard that to have a long lasting career in Project Management you need to have come from a technical background. Is this true?

Thanks in advance.

Background-I have Project Assistance, Administration, Analysis and Office Support experience with IT and other projects.
