How do some members add so many network contacts every day?

Is there any way to know "new members today" who joined this website? I've noticed some of our esteemed colleagues here seem to add new connections at an alarming rate per day. Actually only very few seem to achieve this, and not surprisingly they appear in the top 10 list for network connections. Unless they are sitting and clicking "connect" all day long, which I doubt, how do they find so many new connections every day?

You are most welcome.

In fact, i would be also interested in methods others do use.
I can tell that it is a lot "work" to create such a network ...;)

Hi Sante,
very good question. I was also wondering about the partly huge network connections one can see here and how to get to such enormous numbers of connections.
Anyhow, my slogan on this is: "Small is beautiful"

Yes Peter, small and simple is often a better way. I also thought there might be a bot created for some "buddies" where every new member who joined got automatically added to their networks. But that might be just the nietzsche in me.

My favorite philosopher, but why stop there? My favorite composer was Bach and Schubert (well the latter was from Austria, but we all knows it's basically the same). Car mercedes, beer Hefeweissbier, i could go on but...i need to keep clicking to add a few more contacts.

I had wondered the same. It seems to be a combination of visibility from being in the 'top 25' club and active out-reaching. Some of the numbers are astounding. Some of our members will be tipping 100K soon!

Quantity begets quantity. If you are already a super-connector, when a new person joins the likelihood of their reaching out to connect you vs. someone who is not a super-connector is higher.

Number of network connections on this or any other site are just vanity metrics.
