How do I transfer reading a book about PM into PDUs?
Is it per hour spent reading 1 PDU?

@ Werner Yes.
I have done that before. You submit it under Education/Read.
There are details of the book that you will need to provide as well as determine which area of the PDUs was covered by the book.

Urban, You have to manually submit this. Go to your online portal https://ccrs.pmi.org/ and then Report the PDU's under Education / Read.

Hope this helps.

So far I have only claimed PDU's for webinars. I suppose I should include the other areas that qualify.

Makes you wonder what evidence PMI will ask for if your submission is challenged - do you have to do a book report like you were in high school :-) ?

I've never been asked for evidence for that but of course you should claim a reasonable amount of hours and as our fellow colleagues mentioned, we are all professionals here and follow the code of ethics.

I hope not. My book reporting days are far behind me.

We are all professionals and we all agreed to the code of ethics, so I don’t see value in disputing this claim. What we could agree upon is on the standard way to evaluate PDUs for reading books.

I don't know how they weigh these things. 3 years full-time work as a PM will get you 8 PDU's, but reading a book for an hour will get you 1 PDU? Hmmm.
