Ok, done the Project Manager gig for a few yrs, done the Program Manager gig for a few, created and re-structured a PMO and associated methodologies. Now what? Can't seem to find any upward movement from here. Will not get accepted to CIO/DIT/DIP since you do not have "IT Operations" experience, will not get accepted to VP/Strategic Planning since you do not have enough "Business" experience and no-no to other senior positions since you do not have enough grey hair to be qualified.

Y'all pundits out there, please enlighten me.

Well Ravi, it sounds like job transition time.
What next position do you want? Aside from simply upward mobility - what do you want to do?
How can you align your current skillset with your goal?
If you are not a 100% match to your desired next gig, where are the gaps and how do you close them.
For example if you do not have enough business experience for your next dream job, would you take a lateral into a business unit to get that experience.
Do you have a map or a 'project plan' for your career?
