I would like to know :
1.what are the responsibilities & deliverables of a SEPG Member in an CMM level 3 certified company.
2.What are the pre-requirements & expectations for SEPG member?
3. What could be the salary range for SEPG consultants?

You probably already have the answers to this question....

I just wanted to post some response, although it's not a very positive one. I have no idea the answers to this, but would feel comfortable contacting someone at the SEI institute for guidance.

Perhaps this excerpt from a recent Project Management Plan will help:

The Software Engineering Process Group (SEPG) is a permanent group made up of 8-15 people representing each business process as well as SQA. Members of the SEPG are advocates for improvement. As software professionals assigned to help improve the quality of products and services, those nominated for membership in the SEPG are senior practitioners with wide experience.

The SEPG, with assistance from the Project Manager, is responsible for determining staffing requirements for the project and communicating these needs to the responsible managers. IT resource managers are responsible for providing the necessary resources to the project. If adequate resources can not be provided, the Project Manager will evaluate, document and communicate to the Management Steering Group the impact on project schedule, cost and deliverables.

We also developed a Charter for the SEPG wich details roles/responsibilities further.

The best source for information on the responsibilities of an SEPG or similar group is the Capability Maturity Model for Software, where the concept was first defined -- look in the Organization Process Focus Key Process Area, the first one in Level 3.

Also, there is a 1989 SEI publication on SEPGs that has some ideas, some of which are outdated at this point, many of which are still relevant.

I would also look at conference presentations from the annual SEPG Conference (it's been held since 1989)there are always tutorials/presentations on establishing and sustaining SEPGs

I want to reiterate the value of the SEPG conference materials. Many of the presentations are greatly detailed and the concepts are often quantified. The SEPG is one of the only conferences I keep on my personal "must attend" list.
