The discussion board is filled with junk with what seems to be from various sources (Rackspace, Yahoo, Aol, etc).
I'm not sure if there was an upload to the database that went terribly wrong or what, but the whole discussion board is messed up now.
Do you guys (from PM.com) need help in sorting this out? Please let us know. I'm sure in our community we have plenty of good people willing to help in cleaning things out and putting in place mechanisms to prevent this from happening again in the future. Saving Changes...

It's been getting progressively worse over the last few months. I suspect someone, or some group, is working itself up to something nasty. I think this is still just testing the waters.
I also suspect administrators are off on weekends, which makes the attempts more visible to us.
I agree Stephane. They could be looking for a way to crash the website by flooding it with nonsense posts and fake users. They are testing what they can get away with when no Admin is monitoring the website. That was just a sample of what they can get away with. Saving Changes...

Hi everyone,
Thank you all very much for your concern. We were hit very hard and caught off guard by spammers over the US Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Captcha is implemented, however, those who have been on the site and participating for a significant amount of time may not see it. This includes most of you here. While captcha can slow down a spammer, it does not stop them from posting entirely. Additionally, we moderate the site regularly, have site security that allows us to catch them as quickly as possible, and other measures are in place that help us keep the community enjoyable for all users.
The last thing we want to do is lock our system down to the point where using it is an unnecessary burden on legitimate project managers. However, recent events demand that we keep evolving as spammers find new ways to enter the community. With that said, we are making some changes as a result of this latest onslaught.
Thanks for all your help in reporting spam and caring about the health of our platform!

I, like my fellow colleagues, is concerned in so many ways because we've been seeing fake profiles since a while now so as Stephane mentioned, who knows what is coming next.
Until now, under people, I see lots of fake profiles. Why are we allowing fake profiles to be created in this professional community ? I am just curious.
I raised an alert under questions earlier (A month ago) that there are many fake profiles being created).
I am sure you are working on that so let's hope it is going to be sorted out soon.

For now, I think we should use "Send Feedback"; bottom right of the website; to report the incident and ask if our data is secure. I don't think the developers will be reading our discussion.
I have shared the link of this discussion thread in "Send Feedback" and have inquired about data security.
If you want to report an individual account, there are three dots next to Send a Message, with a selection for "Start a PMWar" and "Report This Person". If you select "Report This Person", there is a popup with selections for various reasons, including Spam. Saving Changes...
