I am new to the PI area. I am working on a project that aims to re-engineer enterprise wide business processes. In a meeting somebody mentioned about identifying processes that breakdown 'federally'. I understood this as being distinct from a functional flow. Would somebody have an idea what on earth is a federal process ? Saving Changes...

I am going to take a guess here and suggest that Federally refers to looking at processes by federal funding source... which in my mind makes no sense at all unless the funding source is predicated on some outcome based requirements. If that were the case then the processes that contribute to the outcomes in question would be the focus of the initiative with the goal to find ways to improve the organization's ability to achieve those outcomes faster and more efficiently.... just a guess. If this is the case you might want to start by creating a matrix of processes to federally funded programs identifying the outcome requirements. Hope this helps Saving Changes...
