MS Project Question - Baselines

I’m currently working on a project that started before the actual schedule was built. People were able to begin tasks before I was able to secure estimated durations from other team members. Is there a way in Project to set a baseline after “% completes” have been entered?

Jeff, I am not an expert but to address your question here is what I have done to accomplish what you are looking to do.
1. Copy the existing plan
2. Remove the % complete information.
3. Baseline.
4. Re-apply the % complete information.

I currently know of no way to accumplish a true baseline with % complete information already applied.
