Hi,

I am planning to get certified in 1-2 years. Not sure which org. maybe PMI, or Australian equivalent.

Since these orgs require an applicant to have industry PM experience, I want to ask at this stage, what documents should I be collecting to prepare for my application?

I might need to actively fill the gaps in my current experience. Do I need employment certification that I did Risk Management, Scope Management, etc.?

When I was searching for getting my own PMP certification I ran into ProXalt (at http://www.proxalt.com). After browsing through other competitors, I found that ProXalt's value for money in terms of preparation and strategy seems striking. Even the fees is affordable than the competitors. Go for it if you want to save time (and money) Or I still encourage you to do a self study (ofcourse, spending tons of time & money). The choice is, always, yours!

Another thing to consider ... what type of learner are you? Do you learn visually - colorful charts and schematics might be just the ticket. Are you an aural learner - listening to a CD in your car might help. Most people like a little of everything, so keep this in mind as you prepare.

In addition to referring your favourite books, the key (to PMP preparation) is to understand PMBOK fully. I would also recommend that you spend good amount of your time in reading the important concepts in Risk, Cost, Quality and Time. The tricky questions generally come from these areas.

We also offer the complete PMP Prep course (online, class or self-study) which comes with 35 PDUs or contact hours.

We also offer 10 PDUs toward continuing your PMP certification.
