Hi All, I had recently switched my job in search of a challenging opportunity (even though money was not criteria), but now I feel like making biggest mistake of my carrier, reason being, the organization I have joined does not have mature leadership in place, they are kind of start-up without any clear cut direction.. Also I am not jelling with my immediate manager very well. Please suggest what should I do? Saving Changes...
You have 2 options: (A) quit today if you can afford it or (B) grin and bear it while looking for another job. My guess is that things will not get any better where you're at now. Startup companies are by definition very high risk!

I think you can also look at it another way. This may be a great opportunity for you to make a significant impact with the company. Not sure what your position is within the company, but if there is a opportunity (and you decide you want to do it) you can make an effort to give your company direction. Is there a way for you to get involved in the strategic planning of the company. Maybe if you have the time and resources, develope a strategic plan for you company on your own and present it to management. By being proactive in that area you may make a big impact (I've seen it happen before)
As for your relationship with your immediate manager, I suggest you talk with her/him and get to know what the real conflict issues are. I often find by making the effort to communicate and "getting to know" someone I have issues with often leads to a more congenial work relationship. Often by showing concern for another individual and her/his issues you can break down walls and create a good working atmosphere. Hope this helps and good luck! Saving Changes...
