Hi All, I wanted to know was there any incidents in your carrier, where you have suffered with lack of self esteem. Reason why I am asking is, as PM, you should be self motivator and self driven which will enable you to be as good leader. But what will happen if leader has issues. Do let me know if you come across such situations and how did you over come.

I think project managers are just like other people and have self-esteem issues from time to time. It's normal especially if you are taking on a new task or stretching your "comfort zone" by growing either professionally or personally. I read a great article by Brian Tracey a while back that helps me to deal with self-esteem issues. It's titled "Forging your Self-Confidence". Search the web for it and read it. I think it will help. Good luck!

In my case, I don't know how other people seem to judge others as lacking in self-esteem if they are humble sounding or passive speaker. It maybe how you were raised, or culture thing.
