I've been asked to look at schedule analysis tools compatible with Project Online/Professional 2016. Requirements are a bit vague at the moment but DCMA14 scheduling standards are a starting point.

A bit of googling has given me Sensei Schedule Analyzer, DCMA Schedule Analyzer, Steelray and Acumen Fuse.

Has anyone used these, or any other tools? Can you let me know of any strengths or weaknesses? Anything in particular I should look for or any wisdom you can share?

Thank you

I don't use any of these tools but looking at the DCMA14 Scheduling standards, the 14 things to look out for in a schedule are covered in all of these.
Currently Most PMs tend to do these manually using MS Project.
Here is a website that shows the features of each tool

You could build some additional requirements apart from the 14 Point check using this website.

List is interesting, but incomplete

I have use RiskyProject recently, not in the list.

Also an interesting product at a reasonable price.

Hello Vanessa,

Our company tried several similar tools for project management and team communication, but they did not meet our requirements completely. So we developed Riter to manage our projects, customers and users, track progress, estimate tasks and so on. You will find more details on my profile if necesary. Maybe it will satisfy your company needs as well. Riter has many features that, for example, Project Online Professional provides, but there are also some extended possibilities which can interest you.

Many tool will do an analysis of schedule. some more efficient than other. I have use Oracle Risk Analysis and Acument Fuse. At the time Acumen Fuse was fast and simple. The other was slow.
In the last few years the market evolved.New Player improvement.
I will check on referred site by Deepesh.

Thanks Vincent, I'll add RiskyProject to my list of products to evaluate. I'm not sure we need the risk register functionality - we use Project Online so the risk register is a Sharepoint list -- but it certainly looks sophisticated.

Try Acumen Fuse. Great tool to have in your arsenal. It's my go to choice if you need a quick & detailed analysis of a schedule.

Hi Shivanjali

We're using Project Online and this has some good resource analysis tools built in. I've also being playing around a bit with PowerBI and have found there are also some great dashboard style reports with great analytics around resourcing, free for download. I just wish our PMs all used the resource function properly so we could make use of the data!
