In the same way as they do in a small team environment. Isn't planning poker a form of gamification ;-)

It may be difficult to animate (Gamify) most of scrum scenarios'. Still you give a shot to build a few in your organization !!

Gamification can be applied in agile contexts so long as we shift the reward aspect (e.g. badges, points) from the individual to the team. Otherwise, things will get divisive.

One example might be to tie team-level points/badges/rewards to the achievement of sprint goals...

Even that can be troublesome in a SAFe framework, Kiron. Do we really want to pit teams against teams?

Good point Stéphane -

it will come down to how the rewards are structured and I can see that's one more reason why scaling agile is challenging as the granularity of success moves from the individual to the team to the team of teams!

Agreed the rewards must be tied to teams, just like performance reviews from HR need to move away from the individual and toward the team (in Agile).

It's not whether you win or lose (especially with Planning Poker), it's how you play the game that counts!

I personally have no idea how to play poker but you do make a very good point as it applies to many other games, yet for others, like Stephane said, it doesn't.
